Immigration Law and Employer Compliance
in Washington
March 25, 2008
8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Immigration is one of the most hotly
debated issues facing our country. A
critical part of the immigration debate
centers around whether we should toughen
the enforcement of the employer
compliance provisions of the federal
immigration laws. The Immigration Reform
and Control Act has been in effect since
1986, but enforcement of this law has
been sporadic, at best. However, there's
an increased push - both on a federal
and state level - to devote more efforts
to enforcement of the employer
compliance laws, and we have recently
seen this manifested in raids against
employers by Immigration and Customs
Enforcement. The state of Colorado
called a special session of the State
Legislature to deal with immigration,
which resulted in several bills being
passed dealing with employer compliance.
What will the future hold for
Washington? Attend this seminar and get
up to speed on evolving immigration law
and employer compliance issues.

Joel Paget will present at this seminar
